The episode opens inside the courthouse. The courtroom is packed with various police personnel, Kaliakan’s entourage, and curious onlookers. Kaliakan nervously seeks assurances from the judge about his safety, requesting a “special force” for his protection. The judge, however, coolly reminds him that all such requests are subject to SP (Superintendent of Police) Suboth’s approval. The tension is palpable as SP Suboth appears, a flicker of uncertainty in his eyes as he states that Kaliakan’s request is valid. However, the Judge wants a guarantee that Kaliakan’s location should be private. Kaliakan is only going to be at a safe house, brought to court and returned, there should be no issues. When Kaliakan realizes that Jagruti has been assigned to his case, he becomes even more upset and hesitant to accept the offer, because Jagruti cannot be bribed and will follow through with justice. Jagruti then confidently steps forward, stating she will take full responsibility and ensure his safety, solidifying the judge’s decision. The request is approved.
The scene shifts as Jagruti takes Kaliakan and his guards out of the courthouse. A massive crowd has gathered, many of whom have suffered directly or indirectly under Kaliakan’s ruthless rule. Embittered by past injustices, the villagers who had been affected and the citizens of the village and angry and throwing manure, mud and dung on Kaliakan while his entourage cannot stop it. Some call him names.
As Kaliakan is covered in debris, Jagruti’s steely gaze betrays a flicker of inner turmoil. She has never forgotten the pain inflicted on her and her family, and we see her remember her parents who Kaliakan was responsible for their death 12 years ago, however, she is steadfast to her promise that she will seek justice against him and not have an encounter, even though she hates him and the injustice of his crime.
Kaliakan, now a pathetic figure, is transported to a “safe house” by Jagruti. He expresses dismay at the location, questioning why he’s been brought back to his own constituency and sarcastically mentioning the wild animals present. As Kaliakan continues to doubt her, Jagruti makes it clear that his previous means of controlling the town is over and the power dynamics have changed.
