Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Abhira Wakes Up from Coma; Armaan Discovers His Lost Daughter
The episode begins with Armaan and his daughter Myra sitting at a table filled with presents. Myra is happily packing sweets. Armaan asks her who the sweets are for. Myra innocently replies that they are for a “pretty, sweet aunty and two Dadisas (grandmothers).” She mentions that their house is very small, even smaller than their own. This confuses Armaan, and the scene flashes back to “some time ago.”
In the flashback, we see Abhira and a man named Anshuman at a scenic spot. Abhira, looking heartbroken, points to a broken bench and calls it the funeral pyre of her and Armaan’s relationship. She expresses her despair, saying her old life is colorless. In a dramatic move, she takes a water bottle and washes the sindoor from her forehead, a symbolic act of ending her marriage. She then removes her mangalsutra, but just as she is about to throw it away, she faints. Anshuman catches her just in time.
The story returns to the present, where Abhira is lying unconscious in a modest room. Anshuman is there with two older women, Vidya (Abhira’s mother) and Dadisa. Anshuman, deeply concerned, tells them he has called a doctor. Vidya thanks him and suggests he leave, but Anshuman insists that nothing is more important than Abhira’s health. In a shocking turn, Dadisa bluntly asks Anshuman if he will marry Abhira. The question stuns both Anshuman and Vidya.
Vidya scolds Dadisa for her inappropriate timing, but Dadisa is persistent. She argues that Anshuman is already aware of their painful past and is the right person for Abhira. She reveals a major twist: Abhira has been in this unconscious, coma-like state for seven years. Dadisa believes Abhira needs to wake up and move on from the “false hope” of Armaan returning. She tells Anshuman she knows he loves Abhira and that it’s her responsibility to fix the mistake of choosing the wrong partner for her granddaughter in the past. Anshuman is visibly distressed, admitting that even though his relationship with Abhira ended, his love for her hasn’t, and he knows she still loves Armaan.
The scene shifts to a festive occasion – Armaan and Geetanjali’s engagement party. The atmosphere is joyous. Myra, bubbling with excitement, announces the arrival of the couple. As Armaan and Geetanjali prepare to exchange rings, Myra thanks her father for shaving his “bear beard” and looking handsome, fulfilling her dream. Just as Armaan is about to place the ring on Geetanjali’s finger, the scene cuts back to Abhira, who suddenly wakes up with a scream, calling out Armaan’s name. The engagement ceremony is interrupted in a dramatic cliffhanger.
Back in her room, a disoriented Abhira is comforted by Vidya and Dadisa. She says she had a bad dream. The women start arguing about her past. Dadisa reminds her that she has signed the divorce papers and must move on. Abhira defiantly shouts that she doesn’t want to move on, leaving the two women shocked.
Later, Armaan is back at the table with Myra, who is still talking about the “pretty aunty.” Myra innocently reveals details about the aunty and her two grandmothers. She describes their small house, how they sell sarees to make a living, and how they travel on a single scooter. She mentions that one of the grandmothers has poor eyesight but still stitched the beautiful dress Myra wore for her dance competition final. The most heart-wrenching revelation comes when Myra tells Armaan that the pretty aunty has a cupboard full of gifts for her lost baby, “Pukki,” and that she misses her terribly. As Myra speaks, Armaan’s face fills with emotion and tears. He slowly connects the dots, realizing that the “pretty aunty” is his Abhira, and the lost baby, Pukki, is their daughter, Myra.
In another scene, Anshuman is in a business meeting. He is visibly distracted, thinking about Dadisa’s marriage proposal. Abhira arrives late, looking unwell. Anshuman shows his concern by offering her herbal tea and trying to help her when she feels dizzy. Abhira, misunderstanding his intentions, tells him to stop complicating things and that she has no feelings for him, leaving him hurt and confused.
