The episode opens with a woman, later identified as Gauri, dressed in a simple green blouse and yellow saree, being observed by a man with long hair and a beard, Rudra. Rudra is surprised to see a woman who looks like she’s from a well-to-do family (“bade ghar ki bahu”) fighting goons in a slum area. Gauri is indeed bravely fending off several goons with a stick, defending the slum. A group of children, watching the commotion, excitedly chant, “Tara ki Maa aa gayi!” (Tara’s mother has come!). One of the boys tells Rudra that this isn’t the first time Tara’s mother has fought off goons and that she had beaten them severely before. A young girl, Tara, then proudly describes how her mother (Gauri) fights, swinging her arms as if wielding a stick. The scene cuts to show Gauri expertly using the stick to disarm and fight the goons.

The children continue to cheer Gauri on. Rudra, initially an observer, looks on with a mix of surprise and admiration. Gauri, while fighting, scolds the onlookers (including Rudra) for just watching and urges them to join in. This prompts Rudra to dramatically enter the fray. He showcases impressive martial arts skills, taking down several goons himself. Gauri and Rudra then fight side-by-side. One goon tries to attack Rudra from behind with a broken bottle, but Gauri spots him and intervenes, allowing Rudra to overpower the attacker. Together, they subdue all the goons. Gauri then sternly warns the defeated goons to stay away from the basti (slum) or she will send them to the hospital. A symbolic shot of the Goddess Kali is shown, implying Gauri’s strength and righteousness.

After the fight, the children rush to Gauri, hugging her and exclaiming how she saved them. Rudra approaches Gauri, offering first aid from a box he picks up, noticing a wound on her arm. Gauri initially refuses, saying it’s nothing. Rudra introduces himself as “Sar Bhaiya” (Brother Sir), and the children confirm he’s their teacher. Gauri then introduces herself. Rudra compliments her fighting prowess, especially in a saree. Gauri downplays it, saying it was necessary to stop the injustice.

As Gauri prepares to leave, stating her family at the “Ghoonghat wali Kali Maa wala ghar” (the house of the veiled Kali Maa) will be worried, Rudra is visibly shocked. The name of the house clearly resonates deeply with him. He recalls a past instance or a dream where he was told “Ghoonghat wali Maa” is his destination. Gauri confirms she is the daughter-in-law of that very household and invites Rudra to visit. Rudra, still looking stunned and thoughtful, says it’s not the right time. Gauri then receives a call from her “Chhoti Chachi” (younger aunt). While Gauri is on the phone, assuring her aunt she’s fine and on her way, Rudra mysteriously disappears from the scene. Gauri looks around, puzzled by his sudden departure.

The scene shifts to a well-furnished house. Gauri enters, and her Chhoti Chachi rushes to her, concerned about her dishevelled state and the dirt on her saree, asking if she got into a fight again. An older woman, Badi Dadi Maa (great-grandmother), also expresses her disapproval, scolding Gauri for her actions and worrying about the family’s reputation, emphasizing that they are the respected family of the “Ghoonghat wali Kali Maa.” Gauri defends herself, saying she couldn’t stand by and watch injustice being done to the poor slum dwellers whose homes were being threatened. Tara and another young boy, Akash, excitedly praise Gauri’s bravery, with Akash mimicking her fighting moves.

At this moment, a man, Ghosh Babu, enters, clapping sarcastically. He taunts Gauri, “praising” her bravery and suggesting her story should be published as “Himmat wali Gauri” (Brave Gauri). A well-dressed, imposing woman, Shailja Ma, then enters. Ghosh Babu greets her deferentially, even kissing her hand. It’s clear Shailja Ma holds significant power. Ghosh Babu complains to Shailja Ma about Gauri obstructing his work. Shailja Ma, with a calm but menacing demeanor, tells Ghosh Babu not to worry and that she will “handle” Gauri, instructing him to proceed with his plan to uproot the basti. Ghosh Babu then warns Gauri that she doesn’t understand who she’s messing with, comparing her actions to putting her hand in a snake’s hole instead of a rat’s. Gauri defiantly retorts that she will continue to stand with the poor and will stop him, no matter what. Ghosh Babu mockingly compliments her “dialogue delivery” and leaves. Shailja Ma gives a sinister smile. Gauri looks determined.

Later that evening, the scene shifts back to the slum area, now dark. Rudra is teaching the children. One of the girls gives Rudra some flowers, mentioning they grow near her house. Rudra smells them and smiles. Just then, Gauri arrives with Tara, who is now dressed in a white kurta with a red sash, looking like she’s returning from a dance class. Rudra is surprised to see them. Tara tells Rudra that the flowers he’s holding are her mother’s favorite. Gauri looks a bit surprised. Rudra, recalling this, offers the flowers to Gauri, addressing her as “Tara ki Maa.” Gauri playfully corrects him, saying the children call her “Mausi” (aunt), so why is he calling her “Tara ki Maa.” Rudra laughs. Tara asks Rudra what he does, and Gauri explains that he’s a dance teacher. Tara then excitedly invites Rudra to their home, mentioning their large family including her father, grandmother, aunts, uncles, and grandfather. Rudra seems hesitant, mentioning he’s a devotee of “Maa” and has come due to a dream and an “order.” Gauri understands this as him wanting to visit their “Ghoonghat wali Kali Maa” temple for darshan and says it’s a good thing, inviting him to come with her. The episode ends with Rudra looking thoughtful and Gauri smiling warmly.
