The episode begins with Dr. Sahib arriving home, looking unwell. Gauri rushes to him, concerned, just as he stumbles and collapses on the floor. Panicked, Gauri cradles his head, asking what’s wrong. Dr. Sahib, weak and struggling, tells her that his vision is blurry. She tries to comfort him, but he is in great pain.
The entire family rushes downstairs, shocked to see Dr. Sahib’s condition. They try to approach him, but Gauri stops them. Dr. Sahib, with great difficulty, warns everyone to stay away, fearing that he is infected with the same contagious disease and that they might get it too. The family looks on, horrified and helpless. He tells Gauri to leave him, but she tearfully refuses, vowing to stay by his side no matter what.
The family stands by the staircase, worried. An older woman in the family mentions that the disease shown on TV is terrifying. Debu tries to call a doctor, while another family member suggests they should take Dr. Sahib to their room. But Gauri, fiercely protective, shouts at them to stay away. A brief, black-and-white flashback shows a mysterious woman telling Gauri that a big test awaits her and she must be mentally prepared for it.
Suddenly, a man named Mainak arrives. He reveals that he was helping Dr. Sahib treat patients in the settlement and knows what to do. He explains that he also took precautions. He gives Gauri a mask and some turmeric, instructing her to wear the mask and not touch her face. He tells her that he knows the medicines Dr. Sahib was using and will get them. Meanwhile, Shailma is shown in another location with two men. She is the mastermind behind the outbreak, having spread the disease to ruin Gauri’s reputation and her chances in the election. Her men are worried, but Shailma is pleased that Dr. Sahib is also infected, as it will make Gauri’s life even more difficult.
Later, Dr. Sahib is in bed, very sick. Gauri and Mainak, both wearing masks and gloves, are by his side. Mainak has brought the necessary medicines and injections, explaining the treatment protocol Dr. Sahib was following for the patients. Gauri, though terrified and her hands shaking, prepares to give her husband an injection, determined to save him. She manages to administer the injection and tends to him, placing a wet cloth on his forehead and checking his temperature.
As she cares for him, she sees a news report on TV about the deadly outbreak in the settlement, which increases her anxiety. Feeling helpless, she goes to the temple and cries, praying to the Goddess Kali. The same mysterious woman from her flashback appears. She tells Gauri not to lose hope and that her karma will lead her to the right path. She gives Gauri some medicinal leaves, instructing her to make a paste and feed it to her husband. As Gauri takes the leaves, the woman disappears. Gauri grinds the leaves in the temple and returns to her husband’s bedside to give him the medicine.
After she gives him the herbal medicine, Dr. Sahib’s condition seems to worsen. He starts convulsing, and his hand falls lifelessly to the side. Gauri panics, screaming his name. Just then, Shailma appears at the door and begins to taunt her, blaming her for bringing this disaster upon the family and questioning her decision to marry a doctor. She cruelly suggests that Gauri’s ambition to become a leader is destroying her own family. Gauri is left shocked and heartbroken by the accusation.
Review
This episode was a rollercoaster of high-stakes drama and emotion. The central plot of Dr. Sahib contracting the deadly disease he was fighting creates an immediate sense of crisis and suspense. The scenes depicting his collapse and Gauri’s subsequent panic were powerfully acted, making the viewer feel her desperation. The revelation of Shailma as the villain adds a sinister layer to the story; she is not just a political rival but a truly malevolent force willing to cause mass suffering for her own gain. The introduction of the mysterious woman in the temple provides a supernatural or divine-intervention element, which contrasts sharply with the scientific approach to the illness. This sets up an interesting conflict between faith and medicine. The episode does a great job of isolating Gauri, making her the sole protector of her husband while battling her own fear and the scorn of others. The pacing was excellent, moving quickly from one crisis to another, and the cliffhanger leaves the audience anxious to see if the traditional medicine will work or if Shailma’s evil plan will succeed.
