·

The episode begins at the hospital where a nurse informs Jhanak that she needs to undergo some tests. As a lab technician approaches with a syringe, Jhanak panics. Screaming in fear, she tries to escape, causing a commotion. The medical staff attempts to calm her down, but Jhanak, terrified of needles, refuses the blood test. She pleads with them, explaining that she’s never had an injection before and is extremely scared. In a desperate and comical attempt to prove she’s unwell, she tells them that her eyes and tongue go funny when she’s afraid, and then demonstrates by rolling her eyes back and sticking her tongue out, leaving the staff bewildered.

Jhanak insists she is fine and even suggests a plan: they should all lie to the “police babu” (Aniruddh) and tell him the tests are done and she is “brain fine” (her version of brave and fine). When the nurse clarifies that the man is just a technician, not a doctor, Jhanak amusingly calls him a “chela saheb” (doctor’s apprentice), which annoys him. As the drama escalates, a senior female doctor arrives. She scolds the staff for the delay and firmly instructs Jhanak to cooperate. A frightened Jhanak agrees but warns them that if she dies, they will all be in trouble with the police. Finally, the staff manages to draw her blood, during which Jhanak screams and dramatically faints, again with her eyes rolled back.

Meanwhile, the attendant rushes to Aniruddh, who is in the corridor, and tells him that his “family member” has had a strange fit. Aniruddh, frustrated, corrects him, stating Jhanak is only a distant relative. He’s shocked to hear about her condition but dismisses it as an act. Worried and annoyed by the continuous trouble, he paces the corridor, thinking about how he will manage the situation and get back to his family in Kolkata without any more complications from the fake wedding.

Aniruddh enters the room to find Jhanak unconscious. When the nurse tries to check her eyes, Jhanak suddenly wakes up, slapping the nurse’s hand away. Completely disoriented, she thanks the staff for saving her life. Aniruddh, losing his patience, scolds her for the drama. The doctor informs him that Jhanak’s reports are normal and she can be discharged. Once alone, Jhanak cheerfully reminds Aniruddh that they forgot to test her memory, then brings up their “filmy” fake wedding, confirming she knows it wasn’t real. She questions why he would marry her when he is already engaged. Aniruddh angrily tells her to stop her nonsense and warns her not to mention their wedding to his family, relieved that her sindoor and makeup have been wiped off. He peeks out the door, worried about what’s to come.

The scene shifts to a flashback or thought sequence where Jhanak’s mother, Urvashi, is seen worrying about her daughter. She remembers Jhanak’s dreams of becoming an IPS officer and the unfortunate forced marriage. In the present, at Shaswat’s house, a massive confrontation is brewing. Shaswat holds a newspaper with a photo of Aniruddh and Jhanak’s wedding, but he mistakenly believes the bride is Ishani. He furiously accuses Ishani of betraying him by trying to marry another man named Jeet, as reported in the article. Despite Ishani’s pleas that she is innocent and that it’s all a misunderstanding, a raging Shaswat throws the water tray she offers and orders her to leave the house immediately, leaving the entire family in shock.

Review

This episode of Jhanak was a brilliant mix of high-voltage drama and light-hearted comedy. Hiba Nawab’s portrayal of Jhanak was the highlight; her transition from a terrified, rustic girl to a sharp-witted, dramatic character was seamless and incredibly entertaining. The hospital scene, in particular, was a masterclass in comedic timing, with Jhanak’s antics leaving both the characters and the audience in splits. Aniruddh’s character, played by Krushal Ahuja, effectively portrayed the frustration and internal conflict of a man trapped in an impossible situation. The episode’s climax, with Shaswat’s explosive misunderstanding, was a perfectly executed cliffhanger. The newspaper article twist has set the stage for major family drama, and the preview showing Aniruddh introducing Jhanak as a maid promises even more intrigue. The plot is moving at a great pace, keeping the audience hooked with every scene.
