The episode opens with Dev confiding in Nayan about his doctor friend who is tormented by guilt. The friend’s deceased loved one had suspected him of being the cause of their death. Dev asks Nayan if she can find out why the deceased person felt this way. Nayan explains that souls come to her willingly; she cannot summon them but will help if the deceased wishes to communicate. Komol overhears this and realizes Dev brought Nayan to help his friend. Dev later explains to Komol that his friend is a capable doctor, but this guilt is ruining his career, and if Nayan can help, there’s no harm in it.
Meanwhile, at the Chowdhury mansion, Kakababu dramatically tells Shurjo and Choto Ma that he saw Vinod (Pari’s husband) laughing and talking with another woman. When Shurjo presses for details, Kakababu claims it was Shurjo’s deceased grandfather (“Dadu”) who appeared to him and revealed a conspiracy within the house involving Vinod. He also mentions Dadu warned him about “a snake in the grass” and how greed for treasure can corrupt people. Suddenly, Hashi, a house help, bangs on the door, terrified, claiming that Pari (who is supposedly paralyzed) is chasing her. Kakababu dismisses this, but Hashi insists she saw Pari walking and trying to scare her.
In another scene, Boudi (Phool Di) asks Nayan to stop wearing white mourning clothes and wear colorful sarees instead, as it’s a matter of prestige for her in-laws’ family, especially with a wedding in the house. Nayan, feeling out of place, suggests staying in her room or going to the temple to avoid causing embarrassment. Boudi then informs her that Komol wants Nayan to accompany them to the temple for Komol’s “Shakha Pola” (wedding bangle) ritual.
The scene shifts back to the Chowdhury mansion’s courtyard. Hashi shows Shurjo where she supposedly saw Pari. Suddenly, Pari appears, but in the guise of an older woman, introducing herself as Ashalata Sengupta, Hashi’s stepmother. She torments Hashi, claiming she’s always watching her. Hashi screams that Ashalata is dangerous and bloodthirsty. Shurjo intervenes, and Ashalata (Pari) dismisses it as just “playing” with Hashi.
Later, Mohor and Choto Ma discuss Choto Ma’s plan to visit Gurudev the next morning to find a suitable bride for Shurjo. Choto Ma recounts a near-fatal car accident from which she and Shurjo were saved, she believes, by a girl (Nayan, though Choto Ma doesn’t know her name yet) who inadvertently caused their car to stop just in time. Choto Ma is convinced this girl is a “protective shield” for Shurjo and can save him from Shauli’s “shadow.”
The next day, during Komol’s “Dodhi Mongol” (pre-wedding ritual), Nayan observes quietly. Piyali and Tonu tell Nayan that Shakha Pola would look beautiful on her too if she agreed to marry. Phool Di teases her. Hashi, dressed as a man with a fake mustache, playfully tells Nayan her wedding would also be grand, but Nayan sadly states her wedding and this ritual won’t happen for her. As Nayan steps outside, someone throws muddy water on her (possibly a prank or a bad omen), but she surprisingly laughs it off.
The family, including Nayan, Shurjo, Mohor, and Vinod, drives to a temple. Nayan senses they’ve been brought to this specific temple for a reason other than Komol’s ritual. Upon arrival, Shurjo refuses to enter, stating he cannot step into “this” temple, clearly distressed by past memories. Nayan recognizes the driver as the man she gave flowers to for Shurjo the previous day. At the temple, Nayan has a vision or encounters the spirit of Shauli, who tells her not to come near as her presence pains Shurjo.
Simultaneously, Choto Ma meets Gurudev at the temple, explaining that after the accident, she’s certain Shurjo needs a girl with divine powers. Gurudev confirms this, stating Shurjo needs a “Suraksha Kavach” (protective shield). Nayan, still in her vision with Shauli, says she doesn’t want to hurt Shurjo, and Shauli asks her to leave. The scene cuts back to Gurudev telling Choto Ma he has found such a girl: Nayan.
The preview for the next episode shows Shauli telling Nayan she can’t help Shurjo. Choto Ma tells Hashi that the girl who saved Shurjo was Nayan. Gurudev reiterates to Choto Ma that Nayan is destined to be Shurjo’s protector. Nayan is determined to find Shurjo by the next day.
