The episode opens in the magnificent, glowing ice palace. Tushar Daitya, the snow demon, approaches Queen Mallika. He informs her that Parul is waiting for him and that he shouldn’t be late. Mallika looks annoyed by his audacity. He tells her that he will deal with her after he has finished his task. As he walks away, Mallika silently fumes. She vows to herself that first, she will sacrifice Parul to become a complete demon, and then she will teach Tushar Daitya a lesson for his arrogance.
The snow demon then enters a large hall where captive girls, with their eyes and mouths painted like puppets, are forced to spin thread from cotton. He yells at them, demanding they finish their work quickly. Soon after, Mallika also enters the hall. As Tushar Daitya leaves, he uses his magic to seal the doors with ice, trapping Mallika inside. Mallika, furious, declares that the foolish demon cannot hold her captive and that she will never let him take Parul to the Champa flower.
Meanwhile, in another part of the palace, Parul is waiting with her friend Rupai, who is dressed in a polar bear costume. Rupai is confused and asks Parul why she is so eager to see the very demon she usually fears. Parul explains that Tushar Daitya is the only one who can take her to her long-lost brother, Champa. She grows impatient as the morning has passed and the demon has not yet arrived.
Back in the locked hall, Mallika realizes the demon has used a powerful spell to trap her. Unwilling to be stopped, she channels her own dark energy and shoots a powerful fire spell at the door. The door bursts into flames, and she laughs, thinking she has won. However, the flames suddenly extinguish, and the ice on the door remains intact. Mallika is shocked and realizes her magic is powerless here. She understands that Tushar Daitya has used a counter-spell to nullify her powers and keep her imprisoned, which infuriates her further.
Parul’s wait is finally over as Tushar Daitya arrives. Rupai is frightened, but Parul is relieved. The demon, however, refuses to let Rupai come along. He sternly tells him that only Parul is allowed on this journey. A sad Rupai is comforted by Parul, who promises she will return very soon.
Tushar Daitya leads Parul to a sleigh pulled by two large polar bears. They travel through a vast, snowy landscape. Their journey takes them across a bridge over a river guarded by two giant, menacing crocodile-like creatures. Finally, they arrive at a magical, glowing land with a beautiful palace in the background. Parul is amazed and asks if her brother Champa lives here. Tushar Daitya confirms that inside the mound, in the middle of a frozen reservoir, her brother is blooming as a flower on a Champa tree. Overjoyed and hopeful, Parul prepares to finally meet her brother.
Review
This episode masterfully builds tension and pushes the narrative forward. The power struggle between Queen Mallika and Tushar Daitya takes an interesting turn, with the snow demon surprisingly getting the upper hand. Seeing Mallika, who is usually in control, trapped and powerless was a satisfying moment for viewers. Her frustration and shock were well-portrayed, highlighting her vulnerability when faced with a different kind of magic.
Parul’s storyline was equally compelling. Her desperation to see her brother Champa makes her take a huge risk by trusting the fearsome Tushar Daitya. This highlights her courage and the depth of her love for her family. The scenes of her journey through the fantastical ice world, complete with polar bear sleighs and river monsters, were visually impressive and added to the episode’s fairy-tale quality. The episode ends on a perfect cliffhanger, leaving the audience anxious to see if Parul will finally reunite with her brother or if this is another one of Mallika’s or the demon’s traps.
