The episode opens in a desolate land filled with burning funeral pyres. Parvati, accompanied by her sons Ganesha and Kartikeya, holds a small, lit lamp in her palm. She declares that after passing the first stage of her trial, she is now ready to meet her beloved Shiva in his Kapali form. As they walk through the fiery landscape, Parvati, along with Ganesha and Kartikeya, carefully protects the flame, emphasizing its importance. Parvati states that this flame must reach Mahadev before it goes out.
Suddenly, Badbhola, one of Shiva’s ganas, appears in a state of panic. He tells Parvati that Mahadev is not here and he fears a great disaster is about to unfold. Confused, Parvati asks where Mahadev is. She reminds Badbhola that she is on a journey as an ordinary woman to find herself and is not using her divine powers, hence she cannot see Mahadev with her divine vision. Badbhola reveals that Mahadev is in Brahmalok.
Parvati, Ganesha, and Kartikeya immediately set off for Brahmalok. They arrive at the entrance of a lush, beautiful forest, but their path is blocked by Asur Mata Diti, her formidable asura army, and the serpent king Vasuki. Diti confronts Parvati, her eyes burning with resentment. She declares that Parvati will not pass, citing the long history of injustice faced by the asuras at the hands of the devas. Diti questions the devas’ sole authority over Swarg (heaven), arguing that it is part of the universe and should be accessible to all.
As Diti speaks, the sacred flame in Parvati’s hand flickers, and her concern is palpable. Diti notices this and mocks Parvati’s vulnerability, finding it ironic that the mighty Adi Shakti is worried about such a small flame. In a flashback, we see Kapali (Shiva) explaining Parvati’s first test to Diti: she must bring the fire of her devotion to him as an ordinary human. Knowing this, Diti challenges Parvati, declaring that she will test the strength of her devotion. She vows that if Parvati fails, the union of Shiv and Shakti will never be complete.
Diti unleashes her power, summoning a fierce storm with heavy rain, aiming to extinguish the sacred flame. Parvati desperately tries to shield the light with her hands and her sari, while Ganesha and Kartikeya rush to help. Despite their efforts, the rain intensifies, and the flame finally goes out. Diti laughs triumphantly, believing she has succeeded and that this is justice for the asuras. Parvati looks on, heartbroken and defeated.
However, in a moment of pure devotion, the wet stone in Parvati’s hand miraculously reignites. Ganesha explains to a stunned Diti that this is not ordinary fire; it is the fire of his mother’s pure devotion, which no storm can extinguish. He proclaims that fire is a creator of life, not just a destroyer. At this moment, Vishnu, Brahma, and Kapali (Shiva) himself appear. Kapali tells Diti that she has misunderstood the nature of the test and of dharma. He makes a monumental declaration: the path to Swarg is open to all, including asuras. Anyone who prays with a pure heart at the Somnath temple before sunset will attain it. Diti, taken aback, asks if he speaks the truth. Kapali affirms that his word is never false and his actions are not deceitful. The episode concludes as Parvati’s flame burns brightly again, and Diti is left to process this startling revelation.
