The episode opens with a distraught Abhira in a dimly lit room, her face etched with exhaustion and pain. She pulls out a bottle of sleeping pills, prescribed by a doctor for her insomnia. She tells herself she’s tired of constantly thinking about Armaan and that she must take the pills tonight to find some peace. Just as she’s about to consume them, Armaan’s voice startles her. He rushes in, pleading with her not to take the pills, his hand outstretched to stop her. The scene freezes, and a flashback takes us back to the events that led to this moment.
Sometime earlier, the Poddar family is in turmoil. Vidya is in tears, explaining to an unseen person that Manoj, Manisha, and Kiara wanted to leave with them but Dadi sa (Kaajol Poddar) refused. In the next scene, we see the family members saying their goodbyes. Manisha tearfully begs Dadi sa to let them come along, but Dadi sa remains resolute. She explains her plan: they must fight this battle from two fronts. She, Vidya, and Abhira will fight from the outside, while Manoj’s family will fight from within the house. She assures them that even though they are separated, they are still united in their fight. The emotional farewell culminates in the heartbreaking sight of the ‘Poddar’s’ nameplate being taken down and replaced with ‘Bansal’s’. Armaan, hidden from view, watches this unfold with tears streaming down his face, while Dadi sa clutches the old nameplate, a symbol of their lost home.
The narrative then shifts to Armaan’s past, revealing the source of his pain. His mother, Vidya, cries about how Krish has hurt them again, reopening old wounds just when they start to heal. We see flashbacks of Krish disrespecting Dadi sa, calling her a failure, and humiliating her by offering money as charity. The tension escalates in another memory where Krish’s confrontation with the family leads to Armaan slapping him across the face. Back in the present, haunted by these memories, Armaan abruptly decides to leave, telling his mother and Dadi sa that he has urgent work. They look worried, fearing he will abandon them again, but he promises to return soon and leaves with a duffel bag.
Meanwhile, Abhira is shown overworking late at her office. She seems restless and is trying to distract herself. She repeatedly orders coffee, and in a confusing sequence, it appears she’s being served multiple cups, highlighting her stressed state of mind. She gets annoyed when the office boy tells her that his boss, Anshuman, has instructed him to serve her green tea instead. She vents her frustration, feeling exiled and unable to find peace anywhere since Armaan’s return.
The drama intensifies at the Poddar house. Kiara confronts Yuvraj, accusing him of being selfish for spending crores on his wedding while refusing to donate to her children’s NGO, something Armaan and the family always did. Yuvraj angrily dismisses her, and as their argument heats up, he raises his hand to strike her. In a dramatic entrance, Armaan storms in and stops him, delivering a powerful slap to Yuvraj. A furious Armaan unleashes his rage, punching Yuvraj for attempting to harm his sister and for throwing their family out. When Sanjay calls for security, the guards refuse to intervene, stating their loyalty lies with Armaan. Armaan declares that he is back to reclaim everything his family has lost.
Back at their temporary home, Vidya receives an excited call from Kiara, who recounts the entire incident. While happy, Vidya is also concerned. Armaan returns, filled with remorse, and apologizes to his mother and Dadi sa for leaving them to face such hardships alone. However, Dadi sa, in a surprising turn, tells him that the time for apologies is over and that they don’t need him, as they now have their new pillar of support, Abhira.
Deeply hurt but still caring, Armaan finds Abhira sleeping on a bench outside. He quietly cooks a meal for her and leaves it by her side. When Abhira wakes up and finds the food, she mistakenly believes Dadi sa left it for her and eats it, feeling a mix of emotions. The next morning, Armaan wakes up on a makeshift bed. He watches Abhira arguing with the milkman over the price, a small smile playing on his lips as he sees a glimpse of her old, fiery self.
A significant twist is introduced as we see Geetanjali, the woman from Abhira’s office, with her young daughter, Maira. They are excitedly planning a family trip to Shimla. Flashbacks reveal Armaan’s past with them: he had promised to marry a bruised Geetanjali and has a daughter, Maira, with her. He is seen texting Geetanjali, checking on his daughter, revealing the secret life he has been living for seven years.
Back at the house, Armaan grows worried as Abhira is still not back. His concern for her is evident. The episode circles back to the opening scene. Abhira, unable to cope with the emotional turmoil, gets the sleeping pills from her cupboard. As she is about to take one, Armaan, who has been watching her from the doorway, rushes in to stop her, leaving the audience on a tense cliffhanger.
Review
This episode was an emotional rollercoaster, packed with high-voltage drama and significant revelations. The return of Armaan has completely shaken the dynamics of the Poddar family, and the writers have done an excellent job of building the tension. The flashback sequences were strategically placed, providing context to the family’s current fractured state and Armaan’s deep-seated guilt and anger. Rohit Purohit’s portrayal of a tormented yet determined Armaan was compelling, especially in his confrontation with Yuvraj and his moments of quiet care for Abhira. The reveal of his secret family, including a daughter and a promise of marriage to Geetanjali, is a massive twist that promises to complicate things immensely. Samridhii Shukla effectively conveyed Abhira’s inner turmoil and exhaustion. The episode successfully sets the stage for a major conflict, not just against Yuvraj, but also between Armaan, Abhira, and Armaan’s past. The pacing was brisk, keeping the viewers hooked from start to finish.
